This workshop is for riders only and includes a healthy lunch.
We will work though a variety of poses to enhance hip opening and strengthening the psoas muscle in order to facilitate a deeper seat, and a more intuitive connection with your horse. Learning how to utilise breath work to calm the sympathetic nervous system and enhance balance. Both riding and yoga are very ancient practices of man. The beauty and enchantment coming from the endless learning that happens. By working with yoga you can achieve greater harmony with yourself, enabling a deeper connection to your horse. Susie O’Kelly is a Riding Instructor, Yoga teacher, Nutritionist and Health Psychologist. She has helped countless people to attain peak performance and her dissertation was on Stress and it’s affect on performance.

As equestrians we can spend all of our time into our horses. What food, exercise, rest they are getting. But its a team sport!
During this workshop we will work through exercises to help the rider develop more strength and endurance, whilst remaining calm and relaxed. This enables a stronger more reassuring communication between horse and rider and minimises the “battle” which can occur when we become tired. Through meditation and mindfulness we can facilitate a subtle, yet trusting communion whilst maintaining a two way contact with the horse. It helps us to guide with authority and understanding during all our interactions with the horse.
