Energy, bounce, joy.
It’s really all about energy.
We need it for exercise, relationships, work, laughter - even for down time. We need it to fight infections, to deal with stress, trauma and even ageing. It is probably not something we think about until we are low in energy, and then because our brains are energy dependent it may result in apathy, confusion or brain fog. The biggest expenditure is our immune system. It takes a lot to fight off infections and maintain good health. The world we live in today is also can add to our toxic load, which may need repackaging in order for us to eliminate before they can harm us. This is all energy expensive.
So what do we need? We need a good reserve of nutrients to fuel cell membranes to repair, rebuild and reproduce. Without energy our muscles won’t work efficiently, we may experience muscle cramping or pain. Our heart muscle may also function less than efficiently and become diseased. Another excellent book to optimise your energy production is From fatigued to Fantastic by Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum, M.D. So to optimise your nutrient intake for energy production eat oily fish up to 3 times a week, learn the difference between good fats and bad fats. Eat more avocado’s, avocado oil and olive oil. Eat raw nuts (not peanuts). Take a good quality multi vitamin. Consider your microbiome. Have you taken a lot of antibiotics in your life? Are you sleeping enough, too much, at the right time? Are you drinking enough water? Do you make time to consciously relax? That doesn't include slobbing on the sofa in front of the TV. I mean conscious, mindful, strategic relaxation? Yoga, meditation, breath work. Come to a class to increase your energy every week!
